Intermediate Construction Coordinator / Supervisor

About the role

As an Intermediate Construction Coordinator / Supervisor based in Yellowknife, you will support mine‑closure and environmental remediation programmes in northern Canada. Working on a 2‑weeks‑on / 2‑weeks‑off rotational schedule, you will combine technical knowledge with on‑site leadership to ensure safe, efficient and high‑quality delivery in remote, extreme‑weather conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate daily construction and field activities for mine‑closure and remediation projects.
• Ensure all work complies with safety, environmental, regulatory and client requirements.
• Collaborate with engineers, environmental scientists, contractors and clients to align project goals.
• Monitor schedules, productivity and budgets, identifying and mitigating risks or delays.
• Conduct site inspections, audits and quality‑control checks to uphold standards.
• Support implementation of health, safety and environmental plans in remote conditions.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, reports and field records using MS Office tools.
• Facilitate clear communication across field teams and stakeholders.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of experience in construction coordination, supervision or related roles, preferably on environmental or mine‑closure projects.
• Proven ability to work safely and effectively in remote locations and extreme outdoor climates.
• Experience with rotational work schedules (e.g., 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off).
• Strong organizational skills and the capacity to prioritize competing demands.
• Commitment to safety leadership and continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook and reporting tools).
