Instructor – Adult Education at Dorchester Penitentiary

About the role

New Brunswick Community College is seeking a dynamic Instructor to deliver adult education programs within Dorchester Penitentiary. The role is part of the School of Professional and Part‑time Learning and reports to the Business Development Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, develop and prepare instructional materials and resources for adult learners.
• Create and maintain a positive, secure learning environment.
• Deliver instruction, assess student performance and provide feedback.
• Build and sustain professional relationships with students, colleagues, community partners and other stakeholders.
• Perform related duties as required to support the program’s success.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Education or a Bachelor’s degree combined with a Certificate in Adult Education, Andragogy, or a Master’s in Education from a recognized institution.
• Valid New Brunswick teacher’s certificate.
• Preference for candidates with at least three years of recent related experience, especially in post‑secondary or correctional settings.
• Bilingual ability in English and French is an asset.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
