Instructional Designer

About the role

The Instructional Designer reports to the Associate Director of Digital Learning and works within a multidisciplinary team to design, develop, and deliver online and hybrid courses for the School of Continuing Studies. The role supports both e‑learning production and instructor‑led activities, collaborating with subject‑matter experts, faculty, and UI specialists.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expertise on online and computer‑supported teaching and learning.
• Assist SMEs in creating and structuring content for online and hybrid courses.
• Advise on instructional and assessment strategies and technology integration.
• Develop reference materials such as flowcharts, scripts, and storyboards.
• Conduct quality‑assurance assessments, focus groups, and evaluate final educational products.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with at least three years of related experience.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
• Experience designing online credit courses and professional development training in a university setting.
• Strong communication skills in English and French.
