Injection Molding Technician

About the role

ABB is hiring an Injection Molding Technician for its Electrification Installation Products Division (ELIP) in Canada, working on site at 4025 Trans-Canada Hwy, Pointe-Claire. The technician leads the maintenance of equipment, production lines and facilities, optimizes technical and financial resources and manages technical documentation. Night-shift employees work five days a week, Sunday to Thursday, from 11:30 PM to 7:10 AM.

Key responsibilities

• Define maintenance plans for new production lines or facilities and advise on improving equipment reliability, maintainability and safety
• Resolve major technical, equipment or facility issues to improve production line performance
• Propose process and production line improvement projects that reduce routine and non-routine maintenance and optimize operational and energy efficiency
• Respond to emergencies, breakdowns and malfunctions to minimize disruptions to production
• Prepare and maintain machine cleanliness and participate in plant projects
• Collaborate with contractors, team members and plant personnel, apply quality procedures and act according to ABB's values of safety and integrity

Required profile

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in plastics processing
• Education in plastics processing or experience in a similar position
• Proficiency in French and/or English, spoken and written
