Industry and Employer Engagement Specialist

About the role

The University of British Columbia seeks an Industry and Employer Engagement Specialist to advance student career readiness. This role connects students, faculty, alumni, and employers through innovative partnership models and experiential learning opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead on‑campus recruitment programs and industry awareness initiatives.
• Develop and report on degree outcomes and labour‑market trends.
• Create and sustain collaborative educational partnerships with faculty, alumni, employers, and community organisations.
• Test new co‑educator and mentorship models that deepen employer involvement.
• Support transformative learning goals by expanding mentorship, professional development, and volunteer experiences.

Required profile

• Experience in employer engagement, partnership development, or career services within a higher‑education setting.
• Strong understanding of labour‑market dynamics and graduate outcomes.
• Ability to work collaboratively with academic departments, students, and external stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and networking skills.
