Industrial Electrical Technologist – Electrical & Instrumentation

About the role

CBCL is seeking an Industrial Electrical Technologist to join its Electrical & Instrumentation team in Fredericton. The role offers the chance to work on innovative industrial, water and municipal infrastructure projects while developing technical expertise in a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop electrical and instrumentation designs for industrial, water and municipal projects.
• Create detailed electrical engineering drawings using AutoCAD and Revit, adhering to standards, safety and QA/QC policies.
• Perform electrical design calculations and complete design tasks critical to project success.
• Collaborate with engineers, utilities, equipment suppliers, contractors and clients.
• Assist with field investigations, gathering data on existing conditions and completing observations.
• Ensure design documents are coordinated, thorough and clear with strong attention to detail.

Required profile

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent.
• Preferably 5+ years of electrical drafting experience, but candidates with less experience are welcome.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit for creating and editing electrical designs.
• Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Organized, detail‑oriented with strong time‑management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
