About the role
The Indigenous Empowerment Scholarship Program combines a $15,000 annual scholarship with a four‑ or eight‑month paid work term in Victoria. It is designed to develop soft skills and embed financial and investment industry knowledge within Indigenous communities. Participants will gain hands‑on experience at one of BCI’s investment teams.
Key responsibilities
- Support the ESG – Capital Markets & Credit Investments team on sustainability projects.
- Assist the Investment Accounting & Reporting team with portfolio accounting tasks.
- Contribute to Corporate Accounting or Infrastructure & Renewable Resources projects, depending on placement.
Required profile
- Proof of Indigenous ancestry (e.g., Indian Status, Métis or Inuit card).
- Full‑time enrollment (minimum 60% course load) in an eligible business‑related program at a Canadian post‑secondary institution.
- Completion of at least one year of post‑secondary credits at the time of application.
