About the role
The Pembina Hills School Division is seeking an Inclusive Education Lead Teacher to support R.F. Staples Secondary School in Westlock, Alberta. This fixed‑term position runs from August 27, 2026 to June 29, 2027 and focuses on designing and delivering inclusive learning experiences for all students.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to create instructional plans that engage diverse learners.
- Coordinate assessments, monitoring, and support strategies for identified students.
- Assist the principal with staffing the Program Assistant role.
- Provide professional development and training to staff on inclusive practices.
- Maintain reporting and accountability for inclusive education initiatives.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Education and a valid Alberta teaching certificate.
- Teaching experience, preferably with inclusive education services.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and time‑management abilities.
- Flexibility and a service‑oriented mindset.
Required skills
- Knowledge of Universal Design for Learning principles.
- Understanding of Concept‑Based Instruction.
- Familiarity with current best practices for supporting students with diverse learning needs.
