Hybrid Systems Administrator – New Westminster, BC

About the role

We are seeking a Systems Administrator to join our public‑sector IT team in New Westminster, BC. The role is hybrid, combining on‑site collaboration with remote work, and focuses on maintaining and evolving our critical Microsoft 365, cloud, server and virtualised environments.

Key responsibilities

• Own and maintain high‑availability, security and performance across Microsoft 365, Azure, on‑prem servers, storage and virtualised platforms.
• Architect, deploy and administer hybrid cloud solutions that integrate Azure with on‑prem Hyper‑V and VMware infrastructure.
• Lead system upgrades, patching cycles and proactive maintenance strategies.
• Design and implement infrastructure improvements, migrations and storage solutions.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to deliver scalable, business‑aligned IT services.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years experience as a Systems Administrator in a multi‑site environment (700+ users).
• Deep expertise in Microsoft 365, Azure and hybrid cloud architectures.
• Advanced experience with Hyper‑V, VMware, infrastructure migrations and enterprise storage.
• Azure Administrator Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification (or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity controls, privileged access management and ITIL practices.
• Legal authorization to work in Canada and currently residing in Canada.
