Humanities Teacher (Grades 7‑10) – Full‑time Temporary

About the role

The School District No. 5 is seeking a qualified Humanities Teacher for grades 7‑10 at Elkford Secondary School. This full‑time temporary position runs from September 8, 2026 to June 25, 2027 and is on‑site.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver the Humanities curriculum, including Social Studies for grades 7 and 9 and Career Education for grade 10.
• Plan, prepare and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with provincial standards.
• Assess student learning, provide feedback and maintain accurate records.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to support a positive learning environment.
• Participate in school meetings, professional development and extracurricular activities as required.

Required profile

• BC Teacher Certification (preferred) or equivalent qualification.
• Degree or formal training in Humanities and teaching experience at the secondary level.
• Ability to teach Social Studies and Career Education to the specified grades.
• Willingness to undergo a Criminal Records Review.
• Provide a resume, certificates and at least three current supervisory references.
