Humanities & Social Sciences Data Librarian

About the role

The University of British Columbia seeks a full‑time Humanities & Social Sciences Librarian (Data) to join the Koerner Library team. This position supports researchers, teachers and students in the humanities and social sciences by providing expert data services, guidance and instruction.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver data visualization, GIS, and digital scholarship services for faculty and graduate students.
• Manage research data management and citation management support, including training and consultations.
• Collaborate with the Research Commons and Scholarly Communications units to integrate data services across the library.
• Curate and maintain data‑related collections and resources relevant to humanities and social sciences.
• Participate in library outreach, workshops, and community engagement initiatives.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Library and Information Science or a related field.
• Experience working in an academic library, preferably with a focus on humanities or social sciences.
• Demonstrated knowledge of research data practices, data stewardship and scholarly communication.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with faculty and students.
