Human Resources Generalist

About the role

Avana is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to partner with leaders and support employees across the organization. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the role will manage employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, and health & safety initiatives to enhance the employee experience.

Key responsibilities

• Provide guidance to leaders and employees on employee relations, performance management, and HR policy application.
• Assist with investigations, conflict resolution, performance concerns, and employee documentation.
• Coordinate performance management, employee development, leadership training, and learning initiatives.
• Administer benefits, pension, leave, compensation, and maintain accurate HR records and systems.
• Prepare HR documentation, reports, metrics, and contribute to policy improvement.
• Support employee engagement, recognition, wellness, and culture initiatives, including communications and surveys.
• Assist health and safety programs, WCB administration, training coordination, and regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of progressive experience in Human Resources.
• Strong knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices.
• Ability to build trusted relationships and deliver responsive HR support.
