Human Resources Coordinator

About the role

We are seeking a Human Resources Coordinator to support onboarding and HR coordination for emergency response personnel at a mission‑driven non‑profit in Winnipeg. The role is a 1‑month contract with potential extension, working onsite and collaborating with a fast‑paced HR team that serves frontline responders.

Key responsibilities

• Support onboarding and HR coordination for emergency response personnel across multiple teams.
• Lead and facilitate virtual orientations and meetings to ensure smooth integration of new team members.
• Maintain accurate employee data across multiple systems, ensuring consistency and integrity.
• Coordinate schedules, track workforce changes, and support training logistics.
• Respond to HR‑related inquiries and provide timely, empathetic support to internal stakeholders.
• Contribute to process improvements and support ongoing HR operations in a dynamic environment.

Required profile

• 1–2 years of HR experience or equivalent HR education and customer service background.
• Strong organizational and time‑management abilities with capacity to manage shifting priorities.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an emphasis on empathy and collaboration.
• Reliable computer, high‑speed internet, and webcam; dual monitors are an asset.
