Human Resources Business Partner

About the role

We are seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to join Canada Cartage in Mississauga. In this strategic role you will partner with business leaders to align people strategies with the company’s growth objectives and ensure a high‑performing, compliant workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with leaders to translate business goals into workforce planning, succession and talent development strategies.
• Provide strategic advice on organizational design, workforce planning and talent pipelines.
• Analyze people data to identify trends, risks and opportunities and propose actionable solutions.
• Support change initiatives such as restructures, growth projects and transformation efforts.
• Coach managers on performance management, leadership effectiveness and employee engagement.
• Manage complex employee‑relations matters, including investigations, discipline and terminations.
• Ensure consistent application of federal and provincial employment legislation, policies and procedures.

Required profile

• 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including time as an HR Business Partner or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian federal or provincial employment legislation.
• Proven ability to influence senior leaders and drive change.
• Experience delivering organizational‑change and strategic HR initiatives.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to link people decisions to business outcomes.
• Excellent communication, judgment and problem‑solving skills.
• CHRP/CHRL designation or working toward it is an asset.
