HR Manager, People & Talent

About the role

The HR Manager, People & Talent acts as a strategic partner for Kohl & Frisch Limited, supporting employee relations while leading company‑wide talent initiatives. Working closely with the Director of Human Resources, this role drives innovative approaches to talent acquisition, employer branding, learning and development, and leadership growth.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for office employee inquiries, providing guidance on HR policies, provincial legislation, and company procedures.
• Coach and train managers on effective communication, feedback, recognition, and legal compliance.
• Oversee performance improvement processes, including Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) for non‑performing staff.
• Support leave of absence and disability management processes.
• Lead talent acquisition for office roles and distribution centre workforce, managing external vendor relationships.
• Develop and maintain talent programs such as performance management frameworks, interview guides, skills matrices, and hiring manager training.
• Manage onboarding initiatives for new hires and identify continuous improvement opportunities in talent management.
• Create and execute a learning strategy, conduct needs analyses, and design leadership development programs.
• Produce engaging training content, including e‑learning modules, instructor‑led sessions, job aids, and reference tools.

Required profile

• Strategic mindset with experience partnering with senior HR leadership.
• Proven ability to handle employee relations, performance management, and compliance with provincial labor laws.
• Demonstrated expertise in talent acquisition, onboarding, and employer branding.
• Strong background in designing and delivering learning and development initiatives.
• Excellent coaching and communication skills for supporting managers and employees.
