HR Manager – Faculty of Medicine

About the role

The HR Manager joins the HR Client Services Team in the Dean’s Office of Faculty Affairs, supporting the Faculty of Medicine at UBC. The role oversees day‑to‑day HR operations across multiple units and contributes to strategic projects.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily HR activities for Faculty of Medicine units, including staff, faculty and student appointments.
• Provide advice, guidance and recommendations on a wide range of HR management matters.
• Develop and implement standardized HR methodologies, procedures and systems across the faculty.
• Collaborate with the Dean’s office, Provost’s Office, Faculty Relations, UBC Payroll, Financial Services and other university units.
• Apply creative thinking to solve complex HR issues and support strategic initiatives.

Required profile

• Experience delivering HR services in a large, multi‑unit environment.
• Strong knowledge of HR policies, procedures and best practices.
• Ability to develop and standardise HR processes faculty‑wide.
• Proactive collaboration with diverse internal stakeholders.
