HR & Education Assistant

About the role

The HR & Education Assistant provides integrated administrative and human‑resources support for both Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) and UBC‑related processes, while also supporting Undergraduate Medical Education (UGME) activities within the Department of Urologic Sciences. This role bridges HR coordination, recruitment, onboarding, and credential‑tracking with day‑to‑day UGME operations.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver recruitment, onboarding, documentation, and credential‑tracking support in line with VCH, UBC, and Ministry of Health guidelines.
• Track teaching hours, coordinate learner schedules, and manage orientation and elective processes for undergraduate medical students.
• Provide onsite assistance to UGME participants and act as a liaison with VCH Human Resources and Medical Affairs teams.
• Offer occasional administrative support to residency, fellowship, and Continuing Professional Development programs.
• Report to the Administrative Manager and collaborate with the Undergraduate Program Director, Residency Coordinator, and departmental staff.

Required profile

• Experience in administrative and HR coordination within a health‑care or academic environment.
• Familiarity with VCH, UBC, and Ministry of Health policies and procedures.
• Ability to work onsite periodically and manage multiple stakeholder relationships.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
