HR Coordinator

About the role

The HR Coordinator supports Umbrella Family’s Human Resources team by managing recruitment, onboarding, employee records and HR administration across the organization. Reporting to the HR Manager, the role ensures smooth HR operations and contributes to a positive employee experience in a fast‑paced early childhood education environment.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate internal job postings, position transfers and pre‑hire documentation.
• Organize and deliver orientation sessions for new staff and placement students.
• Manage onboarding and off‑boarding processes, including resignations and exit interviews.
• Process employee benefits and pension enrolments.
• Maintain accurate employee files in the HRIS, tracking credential and certification expiry dates.
• Liaise with payroll and supervisors on staff movements and employment changes.
• Support internal recruitment initiatives and ensure compliance with unionized workplace requirements.

Required profile

• Diploma in Human Resources or equivalent education and experience.
• CHRP designation (completed or in progress) is an asset.
• 2–3 years of experience in HR, office administration or related roles.
• Experience in a unionized environment is a plus.
• Exceptional time‑management, organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.

Required skills

• Proficiency with HRIS platforms, specifically Dayforce.
• Strong administrative, coordination and reporting abilities.
