About the role
The HR Coordinator at MGI supports the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment to onboarding and ongoing engagement. You will work closely with employees, managers, and the payroll team to ensure a smooth, compliant, and positive workplace experience.
Key responsibilities
- Build meaningful relationships with all employees and act as a trusted HR point of contact.
- Create career pathing models and development plans.
- Respond to inquiries about HR policies, procedures, benefits, and compensation.
- Attract and retain talent through campus/job fairs, job postings, resume sourcing, phone pre‑screens, interview coordination, and reference checks.
- Maintain up‑to‑date job descriptions as the organization evolves.
- Drive employee engagement initiatives and recognition programs.
- Facilitate onboarding and orientation for new hires.
- Collaborate on health and safety programs, including WHMIS, workplace violence and harassment, AODA compliance, and hazard awareness.
- Liaise with the payroll team to ensure accurate compensation processing.
Required profile
- Post‑secondary certificate, degree or diploma.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust across all levels.
- Self‑motivated, entrepreneurial spirit and a collaborative, egoless attitude.
- Ability to manage a 40‑50 hour work week without regular overtime.
