About the role
WSIB is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders. You will translate business strategy into people solutions that drive performance, support organizational capability, and help injured workers return to work faster.
Key responsibilities
- Partner with business leaders to design and execute people strategies aligned with operational and strategic goals.
- Provide advice and coaching on talent, performance, employee/labour relations, workforce planning, and organizational effectiveness.
- Support organizational design, restructuring, and change initiatives while focusing on business outcomes and employee experience.
- Use data, trends, and business insight to identify risks and opportunities, recommending practical solutions.
- Collaborate with Learning, Talent, Employee & Labour Relations, and HR Analytics to implement programs and policies.
- Guide leaders through performance management, succession planning, and talent development.
- Promote an inclusive, respectful, high‑performing culture aligned with WSIB values.
- Ensure HR practices are compliant, consistent, and responsive to business needs.
Required profile
- Significant progressive HR experience, including success as an HR Business Partner or senior advisor in complex environments.
- Strong business and organizational acumen with the ability to link people strategy to operational priorities.
- Proven ability to influence senior leaders, coach through complex issues, and build credibility as a trusted advisor.
- Deep experience in employee relations, organizational change, talent strategy, leadership support, and workforce planning.
- Excellent judgment, communication, and relationship‑building skills, with confidence to challenge constructively.
- Comfort operating in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities, ambiguity, and opportunities to influence outcomes.
- Ability to use insight, data, and context to make sound recommendations.
