About the role
The City of Brampton is seeking an HR Assistant to support the Talent Acquisition and Organizational Development team. This full‑time, onsite position provides administrative and confidential services that keep the HR section running efficiently.
Key responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to HR professionals, including preparation, review, processing and distribution of correspondence, presentations and reports.
- Assist with business initiatives, programs, processes and projects, and develop tools for continuous improvement.
- Maintain confidential files and records to ensure corporate compliance.
- Monitor and process financial, time‑entry and budgetary records for the division.
- Coordinate meetings, conferences, travel arrangements and event logistics.
- Prioritize requests, direct inquiries, and deliver internal and external customer service.
- Research and help prepare policies, procedures and reports; update databases and web‑based records.
- Handle confidential disciplinary, grievance and performance documentation.
Required profile
- Strong judgment to resolve political or sensitive matters.
- Ability to liaise with management and ensure compliance with corporate standards.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Professional demeanor with a focus on confidentiality.
