Housing Support Team Member

About the role

The Housing Support Team Member joins a community‑based, not‑for‑profit health centre in Calgary to provide essential moving, cleanup, remediation and equipment maintenance services for vulnerable clients. Reporting to the Housing and Support Logistics Lead, you will work in a fast‑paced environment to ensure safe, healthy housing conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with client moves, packing, and transportation while maintaining high landlord/client satisfaction.
• Perform general labour tasks such as demolition, debris removal, light construction, and bio‑hazard cleanup (training provided).
• Respond to water, fire, smoke, mold, pest and other disaster events, conducting remediation and restoration.
• Conduct basic vehicle inspections, cleaning and report defects for preventive maintenance.
• Support clients with basic housing tasks and collaborate with other program staff.

Required profile

• Understanding of the Residential Tenancy Act and related dispute resolution services.
• At least one year of experience in the homeless service sector (preferred).
• Experience working with vulnerable populations facing mental health or substance‑use challenges.
• Physically fit, able to lift/carry up to 75 lb, and comfortable working outdoors.
• Class 5 driver’s licence with a clean three‑year abstract and minimum age of 21.
• WHMIS certification and basic/intermediate First Aid (Level C CPR & AE) required.

What we offer

• Full‑time contractor position with a salary range of $46,215–$50,369 CAD per year.
• Fixed‑term contract until December 31 2026 with possible extension.
