Home Support Worker – Personal Care & Housekeeping

About the role

The Home Support Worker provides essential personal care and household assistance directly in clients’ homes in Scarborough. You will help individuals maintain independence by delivering bedside care, assisting with bathing, and ensuring a clean, comfortable living environment. The position embraces an inclusive approach, supporting persons with disabilities, newcomers, refugees, youth, veterans, Indigenous peoples, mature workers, and visible minorities as outlined in our community programs. You will also respond to immediate settlement needs for newcomers, such as helping with transportation, storage, and accessing community resources, while working within a team that follows accessible and inclusive recruitment policies.

Key responsibilities

• Administer bedside and personal care, including monitoring health indicators.
• Assist clients with bathing, grooming, and other personal hygiene tasks.
• Launder clothing and household linens to maintain cleanliness.
• Perform light housekeeping duties such as cleaning, tidying, and organizing spaces.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to promote wellbeing.

Required profile

• Other trades certificate or diploma related to health or personal care.
• 1 to less than 2 years of experience providing home support services.
