Home Support Worker – Personal Care & Companion

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate Home Support Worker to provide personal care, companionship, and light household assistance to elderly clients or individuals with physical disabilities in North York. The role involves supporting clients in their homes, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well‑being. You will work directly in the client’s residence, following individualized care plans and fostering a respectful, supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Administer bedside and personal care, including bathing and hygiene assistance.
• Assist clients with regular exercise such as walking.
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals, plan therapeutic diets and menus.
• Perform light housekeeping, cleaning duties, and maintain a safe living environment.
• Provide companionship and emotional support.
• Assist with medication reminders and personal care tasks.

Required profile

• Reliable, punctual, and dependable with strong client focus.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, patience, and honesty.
• Ability to bend, crouch, kneel and perform repetitive tasks while alternating between sitting, standing, and walking.
• Experience of 7 months to less than 1 year in a similar role.
• Valid CPR, First Aid, and Personal Support Worker certificates.
