Highway Dispatcher

About the role

Triple Eight Transport is seeking a Highway Dispatcher to join its Abbotsford team. You will act as the primary liaison between drivers and operations, ensuring loads are moved efficiently across Western Canada and the Western United States.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate driver PTAs and verify hours‑of‑service compliance.
• Review and approve driver plans, coordinating with planners when adjustments are needed.
• Dispatch drivers with complete load information, confirming permits and customer requirements.
• Monitor delivery schedules, tractor utilization, and mileage targets.
• Communicate delays, breakdowns, or service issues promptly to operations, customer service, and management.
• Document driver observations in TMW and initiate safety or disciplinary actions as required.
• Process driver day‑off requests and assist with trip planning, directions, and customs paperwork.

Required profile

• Proven strong communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Detail‑oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with planners and managers.
• Experience in coordinating freight movements in a transportation environment.
