High School Math & Science Tutor – In-Person & In-Home

About the role

Prep Academy Tutors is seeking enthusiastic high school Math and Science tutors to provide in‑person, in‑home instruction to students across North Toronto and Downtown Toronto. You will help learners build confidence, master curriculum concepts, and achieve academic success.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver personalized academic support aligned with the Ontario secondary curriculum.
• Strengthen students’ reading, writing, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills.
• Prepare students for classroom assessments, major assignments, and exams, including OSSLT preparation when appropriate.
• Design customized lesson plans that promote deep understanding and confidence.
• Provide remedial assistance for struggling learners and enrichment for advanced students.
• Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about progress and goals.

Required profile

• Current, valid registration with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) or be a certified teacher in Canada/US (or in the process of certification).
• Enrolled in a Bachelor of Education program or have experience as a lecturer/course instructor at an accredited college or university.
• Familiarity with the Ontario secondary English curriculum (Grades 9‑12) is essential.
• Reliable transportation to travel to students’ homes in the specified Toronto areas.
