High School IB Specialist – In‑Person & In‑Home Tutor

About the role

Prep Academy Tutors is seeking experienced High School IB Specialists to provide personalized, in‑person and in‑home tutoring for students in North and Downtown Toronto. The role supports learners in the IB Middle Years and Diploma programmes, helping them succeed in assessments, essays and exams.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver tailored academic support aligned with the IB curriculum across subjects such as English, Math, Sciences, History, Business, and more.
• Guide students through Internal Assessments, Extended Essays, Theory of Knowledge and exam preparation.
• Create customized learning plans that strengthen conceptual understanding and study strategies.
• Monitor progress and communicate regularly with parents or guardians about goals and improvements.
• Provide enrichment for high‑achieving students and targeted assistance for those facing challenges.

Required profile

• Current, valid registration with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) or equivalent teaching certification in Canada or the US.
• Enrolled in or holder of a Bachelor of Education program, or experience as a lecturer/instructor at an accredited college or university.
• Demonstrated experience tutoring or teaching IB MYP or DP students.
• Strong knowledge of IB curriculum expectations, assessment criteria and inquiry‑based learning.
• Reliable transportation to travel to students’ homes in North and Downtown Toronto.
