Heavy Equipment Technician

About the role

You will maintain and repair complex drill equipment in a remote FIFO environment, working with hydraulic systems, electronic controls, and custom‑engineered solutions. The role requires hands‑on problem solving where standard manuals often do not apply.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and repair blast‑hole and DTH drill platforms at remote mine sites.
• Troubleshoot and service hydraulic systems (open and closed loop) and electronic control/CAN‑bus systems.
• Fabricate custom components when off‑the‑shelf parts are unsuitable.
• Ensure safety compliance and conduct work independently on site.
• Travel to and from remote locations across western Canada on a FIFO schedule.

Required profile

• Self‑reliant and able to finish tasks without repeated direction.
• Quiet, competent, and attentive to safety.
• Willing to develop expertise beyond certifications.
• Open to candidates from 3rd‑year apprentice to journeyman level.
