About the role
As a Heavy Duty Mechanic you will keep our drilling and support equipment in top condition, ensuring reliable performance in demanding field environments. You will work closely with a safety‑focused team and contribute to the success of geotechnical projects across North America and Australia.
Key responsibilities
- Disassemble and reassemble engines, transmissions, cooling, fuel, exhaust, brakes, clutches, differentials, hydraulics, electrical and lubrication systems.
- Inspect and test drill units, diesel compressors, hydraulic support equipment and high‑pressure water pumps to identify faults.
- Diagnose malfunctions using computerized diagnostic tools and determine required repairs.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and repair major breakdowns, including troubleshooting.
- Assist in developing apprentices and collaborate with the team to meet maintenance targets.
- Verify and repair emission control systems and service attachments and tools.
- Follow ConeTec’s safety culture, prepare safe work procedures and report incidents promptly.
Required profile
- 5+ years experience with industrial heavy equipment such as hydraulic systems, diesel engines, compressors and high‑pressure pumps.
- Valid driver’s licence and a Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic licence.
- Red Seal certification in Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanics preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
- Willingness to work outdoors and travel for extended periods.
