Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic

About the role

The Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy trucks and equipment used in mining operations at Agnico Eagle Mines in Cochrane. The role involves troubleshooting, diagnosing faults with computerized tools, and ensuring equipment is kept in safe operating condition. You will work in a physically demanding environment, handling heavy loads and performing detailed maintenance tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions.
• Diagnose faults using computerized and other testing equipment to determine repair requirements.
• Order parts, maintain inventory, and keep maintenance reports and documentation.
• Adjust equipment, repair or replace defective parts, and perform routine cleaning and lubrication.
• Perform repair work on heavy trucks and other heavy-duty machinery.

Required profile

• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including bending, crouching, kneeling, and handling heavy loads.
• Strong attention to detail, hand‑eye coordination, and manual dexterity.
• Reliable, flexible, organized team player with accurate work habits.

Required skills

• Operation of computerized diagnostic equipment for fault detection.
• Heavy equipment adjustment, repair, and component replacement.
