Head Chef – Canadian Cuisine

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team in delivering high‑quality Canadian cuisine. The role involves overseeing daily operations, managing costs, and ensuring exceptional food preparation for both regular service and special events.

Key responsibilities

• Estimate supply quantities, costs and labour expenses and maintain detailed records of food costs, consumption, sales and inventory.
• Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to kitchen staff while supervising and instructing cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of meals.
• Plan and direct food preparation for regular service and special events such as banquets, managing requisitions, equipment purchases and repairs across multiple restaurant locations.
• Supervise a team of 11‑15 kitchen personnel, ensuring quality standards and efficient operations.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior kitchen role, preferably as a head chef.
• Proven ability to manage and train a team of specialist chefs, cooks and other kitchen workers.
• Experience with cost analysis, inventory control and menu planning for Canadian cuisine.
• Flexibility to work various shifts including early mornings, evenings, days, weekends and flexible hours.
