Handling Manager – Airport Catering Operations

About the role

Newrest is seeking a highly operational Handling Manager to lead airport catering operations. The role demands a strong field presence, the ability to manage complex, time‑sensitive activities, and a focus on on‑time performance, team efficiency, and service excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise day‑to‑day ramp operations and lead operational teams.
• Oversee all handling activities related to airline catering services, ensuring seamless coordination between flights, drivers, trucks, and production teams.
• Manage real‑time disruptions such as delays, aircraft changes, and operational constraints.
• Own on‑time performance (OTP) across operations, anticipate delay risks and implement immediate contingency plans.
• Monitor key operational KPIs (delays, loading times, dispatch efficiency) and take decisive corrective actions.
• Enforce clear frameworks, maintain discipline, and ensure adherence to procedures while fostering team buy‑in.
• Provide decisive direction during high‑pressure scenarios and operational crises.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation Management, Operations Management, or equivalent.
• 3‑5 years of management experience in logistics, food handling, transportation, or airline environments.
• Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to build successful teams and partnerships.
• Valid work permit, valid driving licence, and ability to meet all airport clearance requirements.
• Proficiency with MS‑Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
