Gatehouse Attendant – Contract (Part‑Time)

About the role

The Gatehouse Attendant serves as the front‑line liaison between Fleet Operations, Asset and Safety departments at CommerceLink Logistics, a division of Canada Cartage. Working overnight and weekend shifts, the role ensures smooth driver scheduling, equipment handling and documentation for local deliveries.

Key responsibilities

• Forward incident/accident statements and distribute necessary correspondence between management and staff.
• Communicate fleet issues between the onsite mechanic, shuttle driver and fleet systems administrator.
• Monitor yard damage, capture photos and email the Safety department and management.
• Follow the tractor red‑tag process and coordinate repairs with the mechanic.
• Enter driver and truck data into TMW and report unexpected absences or unscheduled arrivals.
• Stock and report replenishment needs for in‑cab supplies such as seals, run sheets and first‑aid kits.
• Assist drivers with tractor locations, special dispatch instructions and run‑sheet tracking.
• Coordinate key removal from the Keyper machine, ensure all keys are returned and report low equipment levels.

Required profile

• Knowledge of equipment and trucks.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced team environment.
• Read and write English fluently.
• Strong customer‑service orientation.
• Effective multitasking skills.
• Capability to lift up to 35 lb occasionally.
• Transportation experience.

Required skills

• TMW (Truck Management Software) for data entry.
• Data entry proficiency.

What we offer

• Overtime pay when required.
• Approximately 16 hours per week with flexible scheduling.
• Afternoon shifts from 3 pm to 11:30 pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
