Grants, Proposals & Strategic Writer

About the role

Seabird Island is seeking a Grants, Proposals, and Strategic Writer to connect the community’s strategic goals with funding opportunities. Working under the Director of Finance and Administration, you will collaborate across teams to secure and manage grants that support a wide range of community services.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with project teams to understand requirements and align proposals with strategic objectives.
• Monitor and communicate current, new, and upcoming funding sources to the Director and stakeholders.
• Draft, review, and assemble compelling grant and proposal documents, including executive summaries, presentations, resumes, organizational charts, and financial statements.
• Conduct research to gather data and evidence needed for proposals.
• Ensure all attachments and appendices are correctly formatted and included.
• Track proposal timelines, adjust workflows, and meet submission deadlines.

Required profile

• Strong written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, persuasive documents.
• Detail‑oriented and able to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
• Experience collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
• Understanding of grant processes and funding cycles.
