About the role

Red Deer Public Schools is seeking a dedicated Grade 5 Teacher to join Barrie Wilson Elementary on a 0.5 full‑time equivalent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering the English curriculum to a Grade 5 class, fostering a supportive learning environment, and contributing to the school’s commitment to student success.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, and assess engaging English lessons for Grade 5 students.
• Create a positive classroom atmosphere that promotes respect, curiosity, and academic growth.
• Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback to students, parents, and administrators.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers and support staff to align instructional strategies and school initiatives.
• Participate in professional development activities and school events as required.
