General Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on General Accountant to join H2O.ai’s finance team on a temporary basis, with the possibility of becoming a full‑time employee. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will support day‑to‑day accounting operations in a fast‑growing AI software environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform month‑end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations for prepaids and accruals.
• Prepare supporting schedules and analyses for financial statement disclosures and audit requests.
• Manage the end‑to‑end accounts payable process, from invoice entry to payment execution.
• Oversee travel and expense reimbursements, ensuring policy compliance and accurate account reconciliations.
• Execute cash‑management tasks such as bank statement uploads, cash matching, and bank reconciliations.
• Maintain vendor master data and assist with 1099 reporting.
• Collaborate with internal teams (Engineering, Sales, FP&A, People Ops) to correctly classify expenses.

Required profile

• Detail‑oriented with strong analytical abilities.
• Experience working with ERP and finance systems in a technology or software setting.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, scaling environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP S/4 Hana, NetSuite).
• Hands‑on experience with Bill.com for accounts payable.
• Familiarity with travel and expense platforms such as Navan, Concur, Expensify, and Ramp.
• Knowledge of cash management and bank reconciliation processes.
