Full‑time Trauma Physician – Level 3 Trauma Centre

About the role

The Fraser Health Authority is seeking a full‑time Trauma Physician to join the ARHCC Trauma Service at Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre. The position is based in a 275‑bed Level 3 trauma centre serving the Fraser Valley.

Key responsibilities

• Lead trauma team activations and act as the primary consultant for trauma cases.
• Serve as the Medical Responsible Physician (MRP) for admitted trauma patients.
• Provide 24/7 on‑call coverage for approximately seven days every two months, including onsite daytime coverage and home call within a 30‑minute travel window.
• Collaborate with emergency physicians, surgeons, intensivists, anesthesiologists and allied health professionals.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and teaching activities.

Required profile

• Board‑certified or eligible in Emergency Medicine, General Surgery, or related specialty.
• Experience in trauma care; fellowship in Trauma or Acute Care Surgery is an asset but not mandatory.
• Willingness to work as part of a team of nine trauma physicians.
