Full-time Truck Driver (Permanent)

About the role

We are looking for a reliable truck driver to join Dc courrier on a permanent, full-time basis. The role involves transporting goods across the region while ensuring safety, efficiency and compliance with environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and adjust routes using GPS and computer equipment to minimise fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
• Load, unload and secure goods, including handling cold-storage items.
• Operate straight or articulated trucks (tractor-trailer) for goods transport.
• Perform pre-trip, en-route and post-trip inspections of vehicle systems such as tires, lights, brakes and refrigeration equipment.
• Maintain driver logbook and ensure all documentation is up-to-date.

Required profile

• Physically demanding work with ability to handle dusty environments.
• Flexibility, good judgement, reliability and teamwork orientation.
• Valid AZ class licence, passport, bondable status and clean criminal record.
• Own transportation and willingness to work early-morning, evening or night shifts.

Required skills

• AZ class driver’s licence.
• Proficiency with GPS navigation and computer-based routing tools.
• Operation of tractor-trailer vehicles and cold-storage equipment.
• Conducting thorough vehicle inspections and maintaining a driver logbook.
