Full-time Inclusive Education Lead Teacher (IELT)

About the role

The Barrhead Elementary School is seeking a full‑time Probationary Inclusive Education Lead Teacher (IELT) to start on August 27, 2026 and conclude on June 29, 2027. Working under the guidance of the Division specialist, the IELT will partner with school administrators and classroom teachers to design and implement inclusive instructional strategies for all learners.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with classroom teachers to create lesson plans that engage every student using Universal Design for Learning and Concept‑Based Instruction.
• Coordinate assessment, monitoring, and support plans for identified students, including Individualized Program Plans (IPPs).
• Provide professional development and training to staff on inclusive practices.
• Assist the principal with staffing of program assistants and ensure compliance with Division policies (e.g., AP 60‑10, AP 60‑12).
• Maintain accurate reporting and accountability documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education and a valid Alberta teaching certificate.
• Experience in teaching and inclusive education services.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and time‑management abilities.
• Knowledge of current best practices for supporting diverse learning needs.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive school environment.
