About the role
We are looking for a friendly and reliable cashier to join our team at a busy gas bar and convenience store in Estevan. The role involves handling transactions, assisting customers, and maintaining a clean checkout area. You will work in a fast‑paced environment serving a diverse clientele.
Key responsibilities
- Operate the cash register and process cash, cheque, and credit/debit card payments.
- Scan items, calculate totals, and issue receipts.
- Reconcile daily/shift sales with cash drawer at the end of each shift.
- Perform suggestive selling and promote store promotions.
- Stock shelves, clean the counter area, and ensure a tidy presentation.
- Verify age for lottery, alcohol, and tobacco sales.
Required profile
- Secondary school graduation (high school diploma).
- No prior experience required; training will be provided.
- Ability to stand for extended periods in a fast‑paced setting.
- Strong attention to detail and customer‑service orientation.
- Willingness to work with newcomers and refugees without Canadian work experience.
