About the role
We are looking for a reliable Fruit Farm Worker to join our seasonal team at Pardo's Berrie Farm in Blenheim. The role involves hands‑on work in a mixed fruit and vegetable farm, handling all stages from planting to market‑ready harvest under varying weather conditions.
Key responsibilities
- Hoe between rows, clear fields of wood and stones, and perform weeding, pruning, and trimming of trees and plants.
- Grade berries and vegetables by size, shape, colour and volume to meet market standards.
- Hand‑harvest blueberries, raspberries, strawberries and assorted vegetables.
- Plant, cultivate, irrigate, fertilize and spray crops as required.
- Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment, and examine product quality for market readiness.
Required profile
- Ability to work independently and handle physically demanding tasks.
- Capacity to lift heavy loads, stand for long periods, and work in all weather conditions.
- Good colour discrimination and attention to detail for grading produce.
