About the role
We are seeking a skilled Framing Carpenter to join Caliber Framing Ltd. in Calgary. The role involves constructing structural components for residential and commercial projects across various outdoor sites.
Key responsibilities
- Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements.
- Prepare layouts in conformance with building codes using measuring tools.
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join wood, wood substitutes and lightweight steel.
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay sub‑flooring and erect walls and roof systems.
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications and safety standards.
Required profile
- Secondary school graduation certificate.
- 2 to less than 3 years of framing carpentry experience.
- Physically demanding work; ability to handle up to 30 lb (13.5 kg) loads.
- Own steel‑toed safety boots.
- Availability for early mornings, evenings, weekends and varied shift patterns.
Required skills
- Blueprint reading.
- Measuring and layout.
- Carpentry tools operation (hand and power tools for cutting, shaping and assembling).
