Framing Carpenter – Residential & Commercial Projects

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Framing Carpenter to join Caliber Framing Ltd. in Calgary. The role involves constructing structural components for residential and commercial projects across various outdoor sites.

Key responsibilities

• Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements.
• Prepare layouts in conformance with building codes using measuring tools.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join wood, wood substitutes and lightweight steel.
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay sub‑flooring and erect walls and roof systems.
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications and safety standards.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation certificate.
• 2 to less than 3 years of framing carpentry experience.
• Physically demanding work; ability to handle up to 30 lb (13.5 kg) loads.
• Own steel‑toed safety boots.
• Availability for early mornings, evenings, weekends and varied shift patterns.

Required skills

• Blueprint reading.
• Measuring and layout.
• Carpentry tools operation (hand and power tools for cutting, shaping and assembling).
