Framing Carpenter

About the role

We are seeking a framing carpenter to join our construction team in Cornwall. The role involves building structural components for residential projects, working at heights and in various outdoor conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements.
• Prepare layouts in conformance with building codes using measuring tools.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join wood, wood substitutes and lightweight steel.
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems.
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware.
• Handle heavy loads and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Work early mornings and day shifts, with overtime available.

Required profile

• Accurate and reliable.
• Team player with punctuality.
• Ability to work in noisy, dusty, outdoor environments.
• Own transportation and a valid driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Reading blueprints and construction drawings.
• Proficiency with hand tools and measuring tools.
• Using hand tools for cutting and shaping materials.
