Framing Carpenter – Construction Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Framing Carpenter to join our construction team in Surrey. You will work on a variety of residential, commercial and renovation projects, ensuring structures are built to code and design specifications while operating in noisy, outdoor environments.

Key responsibilities

• Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements.
• Prepare layouts that conform to building codes using measuring tools.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join wood, wood substitutes and lightweight steel.
• Work at heights in noisy outdoor settings while following safety protocols.
• Schedule and coordinate work on multiple sites.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good condition.

Required profile

• Available for shift or on‑call work and able to start on the posted start date.
• 1 to less than 7 months of experience in framing carpentry.
• Comfortable working in noisy, outdoor construction settings.
• Willing to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings and weekends.

Required skills

• Blueprint reading.
• Measuring and layout preparation.
• Wood cutting and shaping.
• Assembly of wood and lightweight steel components.
• Use of hand and power tools for cutting and shaping.
• Knowledge of building codes.
