Framing Carpenter – Construction

About the role

We are seeking a framing carpenter to read blueprints, measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials in order to build foundations, install floor beams, lay sub‑flooring and erect walls and roof systems.

Key responsibilities

• Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join wood, wood substitutes and lightweight steel.
• Build foundations, install floor beams and lay sub‑flooring.
• Erect walls and roof systems.
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware.
• Perform restorative work and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Prepare wall and ceiling layouts.

Required profile

• 1 to less than 2 years of experience in framing carpentry.
• Secondary school graduation certificate.

Required skills

• Blueprint reading.
• Measuring and cutting wood or wood substitutes.
• Shaping, assembling and joining materials.
• Installing floor beams and sub‑flooring.
• Erecting walls and roof structures.
• Fitting windows, doors, stairs and hardware.
