Food & Beverage Server – Seasonal Position

About the role

The Pickle Lake Hotel is looking for a seasonal Food & Beverage Server to join its restaurant team. This full‑time role involves greeting guests, taking orders, and ensuring a smooth dining experience while complying with provincial liquor laws. The position is based on‑site in a rural, remote location with staff accommodation provided.

Key responsibilities

• Greet patrons, present menus, describe daily specials and make recommendations.
• Take food and beverage orders, relay them to kitchen and bar staff, and serve items promptly.
• Handle payment transactions, present bills and process cash, credit, debit, travellers’ cheques or room charges.
• Address customer complaints or concerns and provide courteous resolutions.
• Enforce provincial liquor legislation, ensure legal age for alcohol service, and maintain Smart Serve certification.
• Clear and clean tables, trays and chairs, maintaining a tidy dining area.

Required profile

• Legal age to mix and serve alcoholic beverages.
• Client‑focused with excellent oral communication.
• Flexible, reliable team player with strong interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to relocate and work in a fast‑paced, physically demanding environment.

Required skills

• Operation of a point‑of‑sale (POS) system.
• Cash handling and transaction processing.
