Food & Beverage Server

About the role

Join O‑Sho Japanese Restaurant in Lethbridge as a Food & Beverage Server. You will work in a fast‑paced dining environment, serving specialty Japanese dishes and beverages while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Greet patrons, present menus, describe daily specials and wine selections, and take orders.
• Prepare and serve food and beverages at tables, including mixing and serving alcoholic drinks in compliance with provincial liquor laws.
• Present bills, process payments (cash, credit/debit cards, travellers cheques), and balance cash registers.
• Maintain clean and orderly dining areas by clearing tables, trays, and chairs.
• Supervise and train bussing staff and other servers, and assist guests with special needs.
• Order and manage inventory of wines and glassware, and perform sensory evaluation of wines.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation or equivalent experience.
• Legal age to serve alcoholic beverages and possession of Smart Serve and ProServe certifications.
• 7 months to less than 1 year of relevant experience.
• Ability to work shift or on‑call schedules, including mornings and days.
• Physical ability to bend, crouch, kneel, stand for long periods and lift up to 30 lb.

Required skills

• Operation of electronic cash registers.
• Use of point‑of‑sale (POS) systems.
• Knowledge of Smart Serve and ProServe certification requirements.
