Flatbed Truck Driver – Full‑Time Permanent

About the role

Join New West Transport Ltd as a flatbed truck driver operating in Calgary. This full‑time permanent position involves transporting goods on extended‑length tractor‑trailer combinations while ensuring safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and adjust routes using GPS and computer equipment to minimise fuel use and emissions.
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks, handling cargo securely with tarping.
• Perform pre‑trip, en‑route and post‑trip inspections, including tires, lights, brakes and cold‑storage equipment.
• Record cargo details, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
• Address customer complaints, process payments for goods and obtain required permits for international routes.
• Carry out emergency roadside repairs and preventive maintenance.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation certificate.
• No prior experience required; training will be provided.
• Ability to work flexible hours and as part of a two‑person team or convoy.

Required skills

• Proficiency with GPS navigation systems.
• Basic computer equipment usage.
