Fixture Designer – CNC Manufacturing

About the role
We are looking for a highly competent and detail‑oriented Fixture Designer with 3‑4 years of experience in CNC manufacturing work‑holding solutions. You will own the full lifecycle of high‑precision clamping setups for 3‑axis, 4‑axis and 5‑axis CNC machining centers, ensuring rigidity, repeatability and collision‑free operation.
Key responsibilities
- Design custom manual, hydraulic and pneumatic fixtures for multi‑axis CNC processes.
- Lead design review meetings, present concepts and obtain technical approvals.
- Produce 3D models and 2D GD&T‑compliant drawings (ASME Y14.5) with tolerance stack‑up analysis.
- Support process sheet creation and refinement with production and process engineering teams.
- Estimate, monitor and control engineering and material budgets for each project.
- Track procurement of raw materials, standard tooling accessories and commercial components.
- Perform 3D kinematic checks to prevent collisions during complex multi‑axis operations.
Required profile
- Technical Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Tool & Die Design or a related field.
- 3‑4 years of hands‑on experience designing fixtures for CNC machining.
- Strong understanding of structural rigidity, part repeatability and cutting‑tool clearance.
Required skills
- Proficiency with CAD software for 3D modeling and kinematic analysis.
- Expertise in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5.
- Knowledge of CNC machining processes (3‑axis, 4‑axis, 5‑axis).
